Filled in forms for DVLA registration and first tax, enclosed all necessary extra documents (I thought!!)
and sent off, hoping for a 1st September launch. Meantime, fitted aeroscreen and button start on dash. |

10 days later, letter from Swansea - need more information
- even though I sent covering letter stating major components from various unknown vehicles and happy to have 'Q' registration,
wanted 'proof of age?? and also had to contact HMRC to ensure they were not interested in charging me import duties
(even though nothing major purchased from overseas). Sent necessary information back and waited.... SEPTEMBER Made several phone calls with little result, other than confirming receipt and application 'progressing'? Over 4 weeks later, another letter wanting more receipts and 'proof of age' again?!! But this time had a name and contact details for an actual person!! Made a phone call, explained the circumstances surrounding my build, established exactly what was needed and sent off again. OCTOBER Just over a week later (and another couple of phone calls) my registration finally came through! - over 2 months after IVA passed and having missed all the great September weather. Rant over, now can start to enjoy my Tiger. (Note - I didn't say it was finished......) |
