Achieved first engine start just before the end of the month! Although running a bit rough, very pleased considering I've completely rebuilt engine, gearbox and carbs. Run for around 15 minutes, cleared air lock in cooling system and checked operation of thermostatic cooling fan and gauges. Even managed a spot of reversing and forward motion on drive before driving back into garage. Will tweak carb settings to get a smoother tickover next time out. |
